Hedieh is an 8-year-old Afghan girl who suffers from Osteogenesis imperfecta (OI), a genetic disorder that mainly affects the bones. She has had multiple bone fractures and suffered from excruciating pain since birth. Her mother noticed deformity in her legs after her birth. She was diagnosed to have femur fracture after physical examination and radiology and eventually doctors diagnosed her illness as Osteogenesis imperfecta. Her mother discontinued her treatment because of financial problems and resumed it later when she met Zanjireh Omid charity Institute. Hedieh underwent operation twice with the full support of the charity. She has had no more fractures since then. According to Her occupational therapist, Hedieh has Leg length discrepancies due to congenial deformities and fractures. Lack of mobility in her legs has resulted in weakness of Quadriceps Femoris muscle, occupational therapists are trying to strengthen her leg muscles, to straighten her leg, and help her walk as soon as possible at .Zanjireh Omid Charity Institute
